HOT ! Gold Vintage Solid Brass Ember Tongs Fireplace Tool Coal Open Fire

These belonged to my mother, who said she got them from her grandmother. For years I thought it was for ice. I don't see a maker or year to verify anything. I cleaned them up the best I can. They are heavy and solid. They have some wear as shown.
