EARLY 20TH CENTURY BRASS TRUMPET CAR HORN OR SERPENT HORN box
This is a vintage brass car horn, likely from the early 20th century. It would have been used in early automobiles to alert pedestrians and other vehicles. It is made of brass with a rubber squeeze bulb which is missing These horns were often aftermarket accessories.The specific design is sometimes referred to as a serpent horn.Similar horns were used on cars, motorcycles, and even carriages.The horn has a mounting bracket for attachment to a vehicle.Some models could be connected to the bulb via a flexible brass tube. It is a large version of the horn an was sometimes called an ahooga horn because of the sound it makes.
