They are cheap to get refilled and last much longer than the cartridges. magnificent set up for 5 gallon to 40 gallon freshwater planted aquarium. Used this exact system on my 40 gallon breeder tank with remarkable results. I recently upgraded to a multi aquarium set up, so I no longer need this one. You will need a diffuser and bubble counter. By using the solenoid, you'll be able to set how many bubbles per second you want and leave it by using a timer or wifi enabled outlet switch.
